Perth actress Katherine Langford is definitely marking her ground in Hollywood, with rumours being heard that the 21 year old actress is set to star in the upcoming DC blockbuster, Batgirl.
The 13 Reasons Why star, surged towards the top of the list bypassing Hollywood A-listers such likes as; Elle Fanning, Bella Thorne and Emma Roberts.
The news came from a source within Reddit, claiming that a Warner Brothers artist working on the film revealed the list of actresses he was asked to recreate.
In the post which was found on a popular leaks thread for the superhero franchise, it states that WB wants the actress chosen before July 20th.
“WB wants to get an actress signed by (San Diego Comic Con, July 20) so they can make a surprise announcement on stage during the presentation.”
Back in April the film’s director, Joss Whedon told Variety that he does not see them casting a big name actress.
“I think this is somewhere where you go and find Batgirl and then you cast her” he said
“I mean, I’m not against movie stars, they’re great, but you need somebody who is just right.”
Langford would be perfect for the role, having just broken out into the industry early this year with the hit Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. The actress is still deemed as a fresh face in the industry with immense talent.
If the reports are true, Langford will play Barbara Gordon, the daughter of police commissioner Jim Gordon, who befriends batman and fights alongside him.
Likely starring alongside Ben Affleck’s Batman and Jared Leto’s Joker however the cast list is yet to be confirmed.
